Derek "Degsy" Aspinall

With 30+ years of coaching experience, Degsy prides himself on his ability to develop players from grassroots to international levels (and everywhere in between). He holds coaching accreditations on two continents with qualifications in both England (England Hockey) and the USA (USA Field Hockey - USAFH).
Aspinall has been heavily involved in the advancement of Field Hockey since arriving in the US. Establishing [what is now] his fourth club this side of the pond, he was one of the original members of the USAFH Steering Committee for Club Development (at the USOC). While with USAFH, he was a National Olympic Pipeline Coach and also served as Futures Program Head Coach (Region 8), Selector, Junior Olympic Coach, as well as being chosen to coach USA U21 Elite players. As a player, he has represented Durham City (UK) and Rye (US) in respective national club finals. |
