Derek 'Degsy' Aspinall
Director of Coaching With 30+ years of coaching experience, Degsy prides himself on his ability to develop players from grassroots to international levels (and everywhere in between). Aspinall has been heavily involved in the advancement of Field Hockey since arriving in the US. Establishing [what is now] his fourth club this side of the pond, he was one of the original members of the USA Field Hockey (USAFH) Steering Committee for Club Development (at the USOC). While with the USAFH, he was a National Olympic Pipeline Coach and also served as NEXUS/Futures Program Head Coach (Region 8), Selector, Junior Olympic Coach, as well as being chosen to coach USA U21 Elite players. Katie Quirke
Club Coach Katie started her playing career at Anitoch High School, Illinois, where she was a High Honor Roll student, lettering in field hockey [for four years] and softball [for three]. Making an Elite Eight appearance, she would lead the field hockey team in scoring [as a sophomore] and assists [as a junior]. A current captain of the Concordia University varsity team, Quirke boasts 6 goals in 60 appearances for the Falcons. Quirke joined our coaching staff in 2024 and supports the development of all of our programs, bringing great insight and delivering age-specific content ensuring a challenging and relevant environment. Parks Cawthray
[Specialist] Goalkeeping Coach Parks is a welcomed addition to our staff providing specialist coaching to club goalkeepers. She hails from Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and is a current member of the Concordia University field hockey team. Prior to joining the Falcons, Cawthray would make her name in the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association, representing Abbey Park High School and winning a District Championship, earning goalkeeper of the tournament honors. At Concordia, she's already made 264 saves in 34 appearances. A great addition to our staff, she has a wonderful rapport with players and coaches alike. Tori Jensen
U10 Coach Tori is one of our longest serving players and brings a wonderful energy to our U10 program. Keeping her sessions both informative and fun, she has built a wonderful relationship with our players. Blythe Aspinall
U10 Coach Blythe has been in or around hockey all her life. A former Lift Field Hockey participant, she supported the University School of Milwaukee High School program for the just over two years and was often seen organizing drills and providing useful tips to players. She is a current member of the infamous Milwaukee Winter Club where she is developing into a solid netminder. Aspinall Jnr is mature beyond her years and is very serious about coaching. Planning and delivering sessions has been more than a passing interest for this Fourth Grader. Look out for her at a future Cheeseburners practice.
